Greetings from the Secretary

The Nuclear Energy Commission’s, established more than 50 years ago, has the objective to contribute to the economic and social development of Mongolia by the exploitation of radioactive minerals and peaceful use of nuclear energy, the introduction of nuclear technology, implementation of the policy on the development of nuclear research, regulatory review and assessment concerning nuclear and radioactive safety and security as well as nuclear safeguards obligations as to international non-proliferation regimes.

I am pleased to announce the Nuclear Energy Commission have started its operations with a new structure in accordance with the amendment of Law on Nuclear Energy ratified by the Parliament of Mongolia on February 13, 2015, and the Nuclear Energy Commission structures and regulations by Resolution approved by the Government Order No. 72 on March 2, 2015.

Our goal is to enhance collaboration with organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations, scientists, and researchers to introduce developments in nuclear science in all areas of socio-economics, develop human resources, and reach the required level of international standards of nuclear and radiation safety and security, to transform Mongolia from a global technology consumer country to a manufacturing country.

We kindly ask all the scientists, researchers and specialists who support our work to visit our website, exchange useful information and send us their suggestions and requests.
